Layering Tips

Tanks with Tanks

It is summer! This is the best way to show off your tan and how flirty you can be. Try a designed cami or a plain or lacey tank. I suggest using contrasting or different color schemes. (Similar is good, but don't you want to be BOLDER) :)

Essential:
Plain colored (needs to match a lot of tanks) button down tank. They might be hard to find but if you find one the purchase is worth it. You can wear under or over for a quirky addition to a chic ensemble!

Tanks with Tees

Every loves a tee, right? Why not layer it! You can contrast the fit, regular fit or cropped shirt with a long boyfriend tank (or other way around, depending on the neck line).
Get different neck lines. For v-necks try getting a bold color with a toned down tank (again vice versa). With a scoop neck, go with a lacy tank that will barely poke out or get a size bigger to really show off the tank.
Use knits! Every store has them. I especially love layering with henleys. You can decide how casual you want to be. And you could even layer two tanks beneath in winter to keep warm.

Essential:
A two-toned shirt will make more possibilities. You could match a color, make a color wheel of coordinating colors, or even find a color matching one and contrasting the other.

Tees with Long-Sleeves

This is more of a winter style but if you live in Alaska, you might need the info :). Wear the tee on the outside (just clarifying and I don't think any of you are stupid if anyone wants to hate mail that). Use a lot of patterned thermals or something light weight.

Essential

Graphic tees make a look fun and more YOU! It's better than a plain tee because it adds spunk. Try and find ones with many different colors.

SHOPPiNG FOR LAYERS

Layering means you're going to need a lot of different options, so don't focus on the brand so much. That doesn't mean you can't buy them from Hollister etc., but look for deals! Look at places like Wet Seal (currently having a 5 for $20 sale on layering items) and Vanity (just plain cheap XD). Remember, it's the outfit, not where you got it that really counts.
